RIYAD MAHREZ IS PFA PLAYER OF THE YEAR- FULL STORY

Leicester City superstar Riyad Mahrez is the Premier League’s greatest Cinderella story after collecting the PFA Player of the Year award in his debut top-flight season.
The rapid Algerian scored his side’s first goal in their 4-0 win over Swanseaon Sunday afternoon and then raced south in a helicopter laid on by club’s proud owner to London where he picked up the gong, as voted for by his peers.
The 25-year-old is going to need a bigger mantelpiece to fit his personal accolades alongside the title winners’ medal he looks like picking up with the Foxes in May.

The £400,000 Leicester paid La Havre for his services in Janaury 2014 could be the biggest bargain in top-flight history, overshadowing even the £1m Manchester United gave Leeds for Eric Cantona who sparked an era of dominance at Old Trafford and remains an icon.
All this from a player previously deemed too slow and too small by a number of top French clubs during his days as a youth at Sarcelles.
Mahrez beat £42.5million Arsenal assist-king Mesut Ozil and £125,00-a-week West Ham maestro Dimitri Payet to the prize, highlighting just how highly he is rated.
