RIVERS RE-RUN: APC KICKS OVER RELEASE OF WIKE'S AIDES

wike
The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has questioned the release of some aides of Governor Nyesom Wike, who were arrested by security operatives during the controversial re-run elections on 19th of March.
The Rivers APC is of the opinion that the release of the men from the custody of security agencies was done hurriedly.
Of particular concern to the APC is the release of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Emeka Woke, who was detained in connection with the alleged assassination attempt on the party’s governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside and other APC chieftains.
The APC also expressed “shock over the release of the Secretary to the State Government, Kenneth Kobani, as well as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Projects, Cyril Dum-Wite”.
State Chairman of the APC, Chief Davies Ibiamu Ikanya disclosed in a statement that the party’s hope for justice was raised when the government officials were arrested for various acts of election malpractice.
The APC Chairman challenged “security agencies in the state to conduct their activities in a way that would convince everyone of their impartiality”.
Chief Ikanya described the legislative re-run as a violence-ridden sham, insisting that it must be canceled in totality by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
He also appealed to APC members and supporters not to be demoralized by the turn of events but to remain steadfast in their support for the party.
He maintained that those with God are in the majority, adding that evil will never outshine good.
