Two police officers have been taken off duty after an argument over who could run faster escalated so much that one of them pulled a gun on the other.
According to reports officers Stephen Green and Joseph Tyer were bickering over who was the faster runner during a meal out with other members of their department when things turned serious and Tyer pulled out his police weapon.
The Atlanta Police Department told NBC News that as the argument got heated Tyer "lost it" and told Green "I'm going to punch you in the face", prompting the two men to step outside and start fighting.
NBC News reports that it was when fellow officers tried to break the two men up that "that Tyer pulled his duty weapon" but no shots were fired.
Tyer has since resigned from his post and Green has been suspended without pay while the department's Office of Professional Standards investigates.
