CARLO ANCELOTTI has warned Pep Guardiola he is not ‘unsackable’ — and revealed that they could have been in opposite dug-outs for the Manchester derby next season.
Ancelotti takes over from Guardiola as Bayern Munich manager this summer having taken a year-long sabbatical after getting sacked from Real Madrid lasy year.
And the Italian has confirmed Sir Alex Ferguson approached him over a lunch date to take over as Manchester United boss when Ferguson stepped down in 2013.
However, Ancelotti had already been approached by Real and was forced to reject Ferguson’s advances, he told The Times.
Ancelotti said: “I had already spoken to Real Madrid. For the experience, a manager has to go to Madrid. If it hadn’t been for that, I would have come, 100 per cent.
“A nice lunch. Alex chose the wine, really expensive.”
