Obi was assaulted by the owner of the club, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah, just a few weeks ago. Both men were sanctioned by the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), for the incident that happened after a league fixture.
The Heartland man also refused to pursue any legal proceedings against the billionaire business.
It is now understood that he could be playing for Ubah’s team “in days”.
“Ebele Obi has been discussing with Ifeanyi Ubah over a potential move and he was in Nnewi on Monday and the deal could be completed in the next few days,” a source informed AfricanFootball.com
