Port Harcourt-based rights Lawyer, Ken Atswuete has been assassinated, according to DAILY POST.
The news of the murder of Astwuete has sent cold into the spines of
those who know him for his ardent opposition to the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP, in Rivers state led by Governor Nyesom Wike.
Ken, as he is fondly called was said to have been killed at his
residence in Omuchiorlu in Aluu Community Ikwerre Local Government area
of Rivers state.
DAILY POST gathered that his body was found in the pool of his blood along the road in the community.
The Police in Rivers state is yet to independently confirm the report
but a senior officer at the state Police Command said the command is
aware that a Lawyer was attacked.
However, the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state has confirmed the killing of the right Lawyer.
Ken Atswuete is one of the Legal representatives of the APC and in matters involving their members.
Until his assassination, Atswuete was handling the murder trial of an
APC stalwart and former Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government area,
Ojukaye Flag-Amachree.
Ken Atswuete was also heard on some sections of the media in Port
Harcourt vehemently condemning the Court order obtained by the PDP
stopping the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from
declaring the March 19 re-run election in Tai and seven other Local
government areas in Rivers state.
