KADIRI IKHANA OFF TO SHOOTING STARS

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan have appointed veteran coach Kadiri Ikhana (MON) as the new technical adviser of the team.
Ikhana replaced Gbenga Ogunbote, who joined fellow NPFL side Giwa FC two weeks ago, after the management of Enyimba football club of Aba refused to renew his contract at the club despite winning a record seventh league title for the two-time ‎CAF Champions League winners.
According to statement from the club’s media officer, Ikhana is expected to resume with immediate at the club, and may come with two assistants, Bright Omokaro and Lati Yussuf to work with him at the Oluyole Warriors; as assistant coach Oloyede Akinde is expected to return to the Sports Ministry.
Ogunbote led 3SC to a ninth place finish last season with 53 points from 38 games and has now been replaced with more experienced Ikhana, who has previously mana‎ged clubs like Kano Pillars, Giwa FC, Kwara United, Nasarawa United among others, including NPFL champions Enyimba.
This is according to a news release by Sahara Reporters on their website a few moments ago confirming the earlier statement released by the club in this regard.
Kadiri Ikhana has won trophies with the likes of Enyimba FC and Kano Pillars FC and widely regarded as the most successful manager of the NPFL era. Shooting stars would be hoping he re-enacts the feat with the Oluyole Warriors.
