GRAPHIC PHOTOS OF THE BOMB EXPLOSION AT A POLICE STATION IN YOLA TODAY

explosion2The Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA has clarified that the explosion which rocked a police station in Yola, the state capital, about mid day on Thursday was not a Boko Haram attack.
Secretary of Adamawa SEMA, Mr. Haruna Fura, who disclosed this to DAILY POST, described what transpired as an armory explosion which immediately caused the building to erupt in flames.
He noted that the casualty figure cannot be immediately ascertained but that about nine critically injured persons have already been taken to the state Specialist Hospital for medical attention, adding that the possibility of deaths being recorded from the incident cannot be ruled out.
When asked to explain what caused the explosion, he said: “I want to hold on a little while, let’s allow the rescue efforts to be concluded first. In the course of the operations we will be able to ascertain and get the experts to tell us what actually happened.”
