BAYERN FANS & CLUB LEGENDS EXPRESS DIS-SATISFACTION WITH PEP

PEP GUARDIOLA came under heavy fire for his reign at Bayern yesterday but insisted he had NO regrets.
Manchester City-bound Pep was slammed by fans and Munich legends after his side’s Champions League dream was shattered.
Antoine Griezmann’s vital away goal for Atletico Madrid ensured the Bavarians went out to a Spanish side in the semi-finals for a third year in a row.

While the broken Bayern players opted for sour grapes, Guardiola was swallowing the blows to his reputation.
Former Munich coach Felix Magath suggested the Catalan had underachieved despite being on the brink of a third Bundesliga crown, while his reign was described as “stubborn” and “unfinished”.
Guardiola himself spoke in the PAST tense of his Bayern reign even if there are STILL three matches to go — two in the Bundesliga and the Cup final with Borussia Dortmund.

Pep said: “I was very happy here. Of course it was my aim to win the Champions League. Of course I wanted to reach the final here every one of the three years. I didn’t achieve that but it doesn’t change my opinion about the way I performed here.
“In the last few years it just hasn’t worked out. I’ve helped the players here. Maybe it wasn’t enough. But in the end I’m happy with everything that’s happened here.
“People can say what they want. It was an honour to train these players. Titles are numbers, statistics. I’ve done my best. I don’t have regrets.”
His players did not take it so well, as midfield hardman Arturo Vidal launched an astonishing attack on Atletico.
