WITH Louis van Gaal axed on Monday despite lifting the FA Cup, many of Manchester United’s Wembley heroes will already be sweating over their futures.
Jose Mourinho faces a summer overhaul to get the Red Devils back in the title mix.
Here, SunSport’s NEIL CUSTIS assesses who is likely to survive the shake-up at Old Trafford.
David De Gea - STAY
MOURINHO will want him.
But he would be powerless to stop De Gea, 25, leaving if the release clause in the keeper’s contract was met by Real Madrid and he still wants to go there.
Marcos Rojo - STAY
THE defender, 26, is one of the players Mourinho will want to assess over pre-season and perhaps the first few games.
Has not been a hit since his arrival in August 2014 but has the talent required to be a rock under Jose.
Matteo Darmian - STAY
LIKE fellow defender Rojo, Mourinho will be unsure about whether the Italy international, 26, meets his needs.
But he might fancy him ahead of Valencia as his first-choice right-back.
Luke Shaw - STAY
ENGLAND left-back, 20, had his season cruelly cut short by a broken leg in September — just as he was starting to show what a great player he is going to be.
United need him fit and firing and has the potential to be a star in this team.
Antonio Valencia - GO
THE Ecuador star, 30, started off as a flying winger but now plays at right-back.
The new boss may want a more orthodox defender and there is unlikely to be a place for him elsewhere in the team.
Daley Blind - GO
HE was not happy with Louis van Gaal’s sacking and said so.
Like Valencia, the 26-year-old is not really a defender, though he has proved a decent partner to Smalling.
Leaves United vulnerable at set-pieces.
Chris Smalling - STAY
ENGLAND centre-half, 26, has enjoyed a very good second half to the season.
He is now established as a United and Three Lions’ defensive rock which makes it very hard to see him moving anywhere this summer.
Will only improve under the Special One.
Phil Jones - STAY
INJURY-PRONE but the new boss will want to keep the versatile defender, 24, and also get to the bottom of all his problems.
Contract runs until 2019 and is an asset when fit.
Marouane Fellaini - GO
THERE is no doubting the Belgian battering ram’s effort but he just does not have the level of ability required of a United player.
Midfielder, 28, is an option for the long ball forward, too often the easy option — and one of the main factors in LVG’s failure.
Jesse Lingard - STAY
OLD TRAFFORD youth academy graduate, 23, is very much part of United’s future.
An adventurous wide man who has an eye for a spectacular goal — as he proved with his winner in the FA Cup final.
Michael Carrick - STAY
THE club want to keep the veteran midfielder and Mourinho will too.
The Portuguese likes to have experience in his teams so do not be surprised if Carrick, 34, gets a new one-year contract.
Bastian Schweinsteiger - GO
VAN GAAL’S £15million summer signing from Bayern Munich failed to make an impact following his move.
The midfielder, 31, looked slow when he did play and age and injuries have caught up with him.
Morgan Schneiderlin - STAY
ONE of a number of players who seemed to go backwards under Van Gaal.
The midfielder, 26, did not have a great first season at Old Trafford but expect Mourinho to get the best out of him.
Juan Mata - STAY
OPINION is divided among fans on the Spanish schemer, 28, and Mourinho of course sold him when he Chelsea boss.
But there is no bad blood between the two and Mourinho knows what he can offer.
Memphis Depay - GO
SIGNED from PSV last summer for £25m and came with a big reputation after being the top scorer in Holland.
But the forward, 22, has been a let-down and was axed from the Wembley squad.
Ashley Young - STAY
THE jet-heeled winger, 30, is a consistent performer with a wealth of experience.
Young is also versatile and has even been played at full-back and up front — with less success — by LVG.
Adnan Januzaj - GO
ACADEMY winger, 21, showed huge early promise but it has not been fulfilled and there are also question marks over his attitude.
It is hard to envisage Mourinho having any patience with him.
Ander Herrera - STAY
THE Spaniard, 26, had an in-and-out season and seemed to be more popular with the fans than with the boss.
There is still a big midfield talent there and the incoming manager will want to see it realised.
Completely disagree on Blind, Jones, Carrick, & Memphis
