LOUIS VAN GAAL has been sacked as manager of Manchester United.
Van Gaal has paid the price for failing to secure Champions League qualification next season and Jose Mourinho is waiting in the wings to become the new boss.
The 64-year-old Dutchman was given the news at a meeting at United’s Carrington training ground today — less than 48 hours after he led the team to FA Cup glory.
United are expected to release a statement at 1pm today to confirm the announcement.
