Manchester City have confirmed Pep Guardiola would replace Manuel Pellegrini as manager this summer.
Guardiola would take over at the Etihad stadium on a three year deal with Pellegrini set to officially depart on June 30th. Sky sports confirms.
A statement issued by the club said "Manchester City can confirmthat in recent weeks it has commenced and finalised contractual negotiations with Pep Guardiola to become MCFC Head Coach for the 2016/2017 EPL season onwards. The Contract is for three years . These negotiations were a re-commencement of discussions that were curtailed in 2012".
it would be recalled that Pep Guardiola had indicated his intention to step down from the coaching hot seat at Bayern but has kept everyone guessing as to his next move although bookies were all along convinced he was headed to City. The likes of City, United and Chelsea have been embroiled in a managerial tug of war with each other before this development. this news therefore puts an end to the speculation over his future.
