Former world No 1 Victoria Azarenka has been forced to withdraw from Wimbledon due to a knee injury.
Azarenka has not played since she retired in the deciding set of her first-round match against Karin Knapp at Roland Garros last month.
And despite her efforts to return to fitness in time for Wimbledon, 26-year-old Azarenka was forced to concede defeat and announce her withdrawal on Thursday afternoon.

British tennis star Jo Konta has benefitted from Azarenka's withdrawal as she has moved up the rankings
Azarenka was due to be seeded sixth but, as a result of her withdrawal, those below her in the list will now be moved up by one place.
This is a boost for Britain's Jo Konta, who is bumped up from No 17 and gains a top-16 seeding which means she cannot face a player seeded above her until the fourth round.
Five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams, aged 36, also receives a boost with a seeding of No 8, while German Andrea Petkovic claims the last seeding spot at No 32.
Azarenka has twice reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon, losing to eventual champions on both occasions, Petra Kvitova in 2011 and Serena Williams in 2012.
The draw for The Championships takes place at the All England Club on Friday morning at 10am.
