GOVERNOR IKPEAZU FILES APPEAL AGAINST JUDGMENT OF FEDERAL HIGH COURT REMOVING HIM FOR IRREGULAR TAX CLEARANCE

Embattled Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has filed a notice of appeal and application for stay of execution at the Abuja division of the Court against the ruling of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ordering him to vacate office.
This was disclosed by Ikpeazu’s Chief Press Secretary, Enyinnaya Appolos on Tuesday.
Recall that Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja yesterday ordered Ikpeazu to vacate his office.
Justice Abang gave the order following an allegation that Ikpeazu submitted false tax information to his party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, during the governorship primary in December 2014.
Responding to the court order, Ikpeazu urged his supporters not to panic, stressing that he remains the governor of the state and would contend with the judgement.
