The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade, has locked out
Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Tina Agbor and other staff
of Government House, Calabar after reported to office late on Wednesday.
The governor was said to have arrived office before 7:30am only to find his entrance locked.
When the entrance was finally opened for him, Ayade, however,
directed that all entrances be locked and no one be allowed to come in
while he watched on CCTV what was happening.
The Deputy Governor, Professor Ivara Esu who arrived a few minutes past 8:00 a.m was allowed in without hesitation.
Civil servants, security aides and other appointees were kept out by stern looking security operatives in the Governor’s convoy.
The gates were, however, opened at 9:00am with some staff allowed to go in while those who came after remained standing outside.
