TRANSFERS- NEWCASTLE UNITED TRIGGER MOHAMMED DIAME'S CLAUSE WITH HULL CITY

Newcastle United have triggered the release clause of Hull midfielder Mohamed Diame, according to Sky sources.

A fee between the two clubs has been agreed after Newcastle activated the clause of £4.5m.
The 29-year-old, who joined Hull from West Ham in 2014, has made 50 appearances for the Tigers and scored 13 goals.

However, the Tigers will reportedly offer Diame a new contract and hopes that he joins them on their pre-season trip to Austria on Tuesday for fixtures against Caykur Rizespor and Torino ahead of their Premier League opener against champions Leicester on August 13.

A graduate of the Clarefontaine academy, Diame has been in England since the 2009 season when he joined Wigan Athletic from Rayo Vallecano after a promotion-clinching campaign.
After three years at Wigan, Diame moved to play for West Ham under Sam Allardyce before joining Hull in 2014.
