Newcastle United have triggered the release clause of Hull midfielder Mohamed Diame, according to Sky sources.
A fee between the two clubs has been agreed after Newcastle activated the clause of £4.5m.The 29-year-old, who joined Hull from West Ham in 2014, has made 50 appearances for the Tigers and scored 13 goals.
And it was the Senegal international who struck a sensational winning goal 18 minutes from time in the Championship play-off final last season as managerless Hull join Burnley and Middlesbrough as the Premier League's new boys for the 2016/17 campaign.
After three years at Wigan, Diame moved to play for West Ham under Sam Allardyce before joining Hull in 2014.
