REFEREE ABANDONS MATCH AT 19TH MINUTE AFTER FIVE RED CARDS WERE ISSUED TO THE SAME TEAM

A REFEREE was left with no choice but to abandon a Sunday League Football match after FIVE players from the same team were sent off.
The Northern Senior Division One match between FC Barometrics and Sharpness came to a half in the 71st minute after dismissals for dissent, foul play and aggression with the scores tied at 3-3.
Barometrics had been cruising to victory after taking a three-goal lead inside 25 minutes when Jamie Hammond was the first to be given his marching orders for a second caution by official Anthony Smee.

Sharpness pulled a goal back after half time, leading to a scuffle in the box which resulted in defender Joe Morgan and centre forward Andy Varnam heading for an early bath for violent conduct.
Things got worse for Barometrics as defender Nick Hill’s reckless challenge left his side with only seven men.
Sharpness then pulled level with 20 minutes remaining before Barometrics player-manager Mike Rhodes saw red himself after complaining about the standard of refereeing.
Rhodes said: “I’d be the first to say if we were out of order in any way, but words can’t describe how poor the referee was.”
