A
couple who are set to wed after meeting on Deal Or No Deal have told
how they're 'devastated' the show that helped them find love has been
axed.
Civil
servant Graham Whipp, 43, from Essex, won far more than just £50,000 on
the hit show, he also secured the heart of fellow contestant Lyn Carr,
44, from Newcastle, after Noel told the pair they were meant to be
together.
Now they're planning to tie the knot thanks to matchmaker Noel, 15 months after appearing on the show.
This
month, romantic Graham popped the question to Lyn during a helicopter
ride across the coast of Florida - just 20 months after the end of
filming.
They will now be the first couple to marry after meeting and appearing on the show together.
Mum-of-four
Lyn said she even plans to invite Noel Edmonds to the wedding and pay
tribute to the show, which announced it will no longer air last week
after 11 series.
She
said: 'We are absolutely over the moon. I never went on Deal or No Deal
thinking that I would meet my future husband, but I did.
'It's quite sad that the show won't go on because if it wasn't for the Deal or No Deal we would never have met.'
Lyn
and Graham met in the green room of the show's set in Bristol and
became 'best friends' during the two-week filming period in November
2014.
When it came time for Lyn to reveal her box as Graham took on The Banker, she told him he was 'the nicest man' she had ever met.
On air, cheeky host Noel asked both Lyn and Graham if they were single, to which they both replied 'yes'.
