Juventus' resolve to keep hold of Paul Pogba will come under further scrutiny, as Manchester United are set to make a British record bid to bring the midfielder back to the club.
The France international began his professional career with the English side but left on bitter terms in 2012, joining Juve on a free transfer after a perceived lack of playing time. Since arriving in Turin, Pogba has established himself as one of the best and most sought after midfielders in Europe and it appears that the Red Devils are keen to bring him back.
New manager Jose Mourinho is determined to add Pogba's steel and technical abilities as the fulcrum to rebuilding a shaky midfield at Old Trafford, and the club are willing to stump up around €78 million for his services, according to the Sun.
This would see an initial €62 million in transfer fees followed up by a further €15.5 million in add-on payments depending on the success of both the club and the player. The mammoth sum would eclipse the €78 million United paid Real Madrid for Angel Di Maria in 2014, a current British transfer record.
Pogba, who will be representing France on home soil at Euro 2016, has enjoyed a hugely successful spell with the Bianconeri, including four Scudetti.
However, it is believed the 23-year-old is considering his options and would not be against a return to Old Trafford, with Mourinho thought to be an appealing factor.
