Nigerian juju musician, born Oluwashina Akanbi Peters, popularly known as Sir Shina Peters has dismissed claims he abandoned his wife, Sammie Peters and was planning to settle down with a certain woman identified as Olajumoke Olayinka.
News made the rounds earlier last week that the singer abandoned his wife of 35 years who recently returned to Nigeria following a battle with cancer.
The rumour had it that the musician had been moving from one party to another party, ‘painting the town red’ with his alleged wife to be, Olayinka.
But reacting to the claim, the 58-year-old music icon told GoldmyneTv it was all an unfounded rumour.
He said, “I have no plans or intention to leave my wife or even marry another. Sammie and I have been married for 35 years and love each other. She had been with me through thick and thin and struggled with me when I was nobody. She understands me and understands my business.
“I read about the story online about me leaving her and just decided to not respond. It was totally fabricated and I don’t know the intentions of the writers. I think the reason people would assume this is because, I’m a musician, women naturally come around me and people would read meaning to their association.
