"MY AWARD SHOWS I DO NOT BELONG TO THE KITCHEN, THE OTHER ROOM"- SINGER, YEMI ALADE SENSATIONALLY SHADES BUHARI ON STAGE

Sensational singer, Yemi Alade, who emerged Best Female Artiste at the just concluded 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards, MAMA, has indirectly reacted to the recent comment by President Muhammadu Buhari that his wife belongs in his kitchen which sparked up controversies across the country.

Recall that the President had reacted to an ‘explosive’ interview his wife granted the BBC, where she said she may not back her husband at the next election unless he reshuffles his cabinet.

In his response, the president, who was in Germany on a three-day visit to discuss issues relating to security and economy, laughed and replied, “she belongs to my kitchen and living room.”
As though reacting to the President’s outburst, Alade said, “Give it up to all the African women in the building.
“We’re not meant for the kitchen alone, we are not meant for the living room alone, we are not meant for the other room alone.
“We are hardworking women and we belong to the society too.
