Guus Hiddink has backed Antonio Conte to bring the Barclays Premier League title back to Stamford Bridge.
The Italian has been confirmed as the Dutchman's successor at Chelsea, taking the reins after Euro 2016.
After a hugely disappointing championship defence, Conte will be expected to fire the Blues back into title contention next season.
And Hiddink, who is facing an injury crisis for Saturday's clash against Swansea with John Terry, Diego Costa, Nemanja Matic, Eden Hazard and Loic Remy, says Conte can bring glory back to west London.
'He has a good record, winning the title in Italy and that's what Chelsea want,' said Hiddink.
'He is equipped and able. He has a history of winning titles.'
When asked what the former midfielder's arrival would mean for a number of players including the likes of Hazard, Hiddink was candid with his response.
'I don't know, that is easy to answer for me I am not responsible for the next spell, I don't want to look too much into the future.
The meeting with Swansea is a repeat of the controversial opening day fixture and the Dutchman is keen to stress that Chelsea should be pleased with themselves, given the change in fortune they have had since.
'Everyone knows the history of Chelsea and where they were in the first half of the season and we was rather happy to get out of trouble in a short space of the team it was a good achievement of the team to get out.'
Two separate stints at the club in 2009 and 2016, have endured Hiddink to the Stamford Bridge faithful and despite his departure at the end of the season, he said he will always be around if ever needed for a third time.
'I had a short meeting with Conte about general things Italy, the past, the club and if needed I am available for the club, if needed and in the two spells with the club, yes it is on
