ALEX OXLADE CHAMBERLAIN OUT FOR 6-8 WEEKS

LONDON -- Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be out for up to eight weeks with a knee injury but does not need surgery, Arsene Wenger has said.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, 22, sustained a knee injury in the first half of Arsenal's 2-0 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League last week and underwent a scan to determine the extent of the damage.
"Six to eight weeks. No surgery," Wenger said on Tuesday about the results, but added that he thinks Oxlade-Chamberlain "should be" available for England at this summer's European Championship.
"We feared surgery at some stage when we saw the MRI, but in the end we got positive news on that front," Wenger said at his news conference ahead of Wednesday's Premier League game against Swansea. "But the next six to eight weeks, that means he'll be out until March, April."
Oxlade-Chamberlain was injured in a heavy collision with Javier Mascherano, with Wenger previously describing the incident as his player being "cut in two" by the Barcelona midfielder.
The Arsenal midfielder tried to keep playing but had to be substituted shortly after the half-time break. He now risks missing yet another international tournament, having failed to recover from another knee injury in time for the 2014 World Cup.
Wenger said there were no new injuries following Sunday's 3-2 loss at Manchester United, and that he expects the same players to be available on Wednesday.
"I have to check today but I don't think we have any problems from Sunday, apart from one or two with muscular tightness. Overall everyone should be available," Wenger said.
